How to run your first paid yoga class on Tyz

12 June 2026 · 5 min read

Running a paid class for the first time can feel daunting, but the logistics don't have to be. Once you've created your Tyz account and set up your organisation, publishing a paid event takes under five minutes. Head to Create Event, fill in your venue, time, capacity and ticket price — then hit Publish. Your class goes live in the Tyz discovery catalog immediately, and attendees can register and pay via card, Apple Pay or Google Pay with no app download required.

The part most first-time instructors worry about is payment. Tyz uses Stripe Connect, which means you connect your own Stripe account (free to create) and your revenue flows directly there after settlement. You don't need to chase invoices or wait for a monthly payout — once your event completes, the nightly settlement job runs automatically, calculates the platform fee, and transfers your net revenue. For a $30 yoga class on the Solo plan, that's $28.80 straight to your Stripe account.

On the day itself, check-in is handled from your phone. Open the Tyz app, go to your event, and scan attendee QR codes as they arrive — or search by name and tap Check In manually. You'll see a live count of who's in the room. If a student forgets their confirmation email, the six-digit booking reference works as a fallback. After the event wraps, Tyz automatically marks anyone who didn't check in as a no-show, so your attendance records stay accurate without any extra admin.
